The INTERACTION project, co-ordinated from The University of Copenhagen, will produce a conceptual model for the out-of-equilibrium system of interacting clouds.
Using cutting-edge large-eddy simulations it will determine the interactions in the cloud system and will go beyond the traditional forcing-and-feedback descriptions which portray severe shortcomings.
With a 5 year ERC consolidator grant it will allow the co-ordinator to capture the self-organisation of convection which may prove essential for understanding the risk of precipitation extremes now and in the future.
