The EIC Innovation LaunchPad call receives 118 submitted applications – the largest ever response since the beginning of the programme

A very high number of applications received for the last EIC Innovation LaunchPad call under Horizon 2020.The results about the funded proposals will be released by the end of January 2021.
14 October 2020 was the deadline of the last EIC Pathfinder – Innovation LaunchPad call (formerly known as Future Emerging Technologies (FET) Innovation LaunchPad) under the Horizon 2020 programme. With 118 submitted applications (198 participants in total) – calling for more than €12 million of grant support – and participants in 22 countries (including 16 Member States, 4 Horizon 2020 Associated Countries, the UK and Belarus), this was the largest ever response to any FET- Innovation LaunchPad call with an increase of 353% compared to the previous one. Participants are mainly from Higher Education bodies and research institutions, with a 29% participation of SMEs.

A budget of €3 million was allocated to this call, and as such, it is expected that 30 applications will be funded. The evaluation process has begun and will be finalised by the end of January 2021 with the selection of the best proposals aiming to transform results from Pathfinder/FET funded projects into societal or economic innovations under Horizon2020 programme.
